Evija Vēbere Singer and songwriter

Evija released her first acoustic quartet compositions while studying jazz music in the Netherlands. That same year, she and Serbian drummer Lav Kovač founded “Howling Owl”, an avant-pop duo. Together they played around Europe and performed in festivals such as The Great Escape (UK), Liverpool Sound City (UK), and Waves (SK). In October of 2018 Evija released her solo recording “Sirdsbūt”.
Evija’s musical spectrum spans a wide range, from light and playful melodies to wild, mischievous, existential and schizophrenic depths of sound. She writes lyrics in her native language, creates music on hardware instruments, makes sounds with a broken trumpet and sings with a childlike voice.
